No one pays any attention to the fallen gladiator. His wound is mortal. He lies still on the ground while all around him the battles of the other gladiators rages. Despite his terrible agony the gladiator feels peaceful. Resigned to his death he is pleased he put up a good fight and entertained the crowd. As he lifts his hand to feel his mortal wound in his abdominal muscles he knows his end is near. In his last breath he notices the man who killed him is yelling in pain. A sword has ripped into his body. The man too is now mortally wounded. He dies with a smile on his face knowing his death has been avenged. Such is the balance of the Arena.
