It’s possible that in his professional life Vadis just never lost the playful spirit most of us had when we were kids playing gladiator or war and pretending to fight, kill and die in combat. Instead of abandoning the fantasy in favor of more “mature” pursuits, he held onto it and used it in his career. Judging from the enjoyment he seems to take in his roles, I imagine he knew that he was touching a deep chord with many of his male viewers. It wasn’t any fun getting killed in combat unless playmates were watching.
He LOVED being snuffed in the movies. It makes you wonder what thoughts raced through his head. Was he one of us?
